It's a kitchenette tent. 
There sure musta been a lot of work went into that mod. It looks like a good job. The but tent looks kinda tacky though.

It looks like a slide out for the main bed area, and I bet you could sleep front to back.
I told my husband that he needed to come up with that modification---alas he didn't/couldn't wouldn't dream of it and now we have a 17' Escape!!!! (still sleep the same way but the bed IS bigger!!!)
