I am wondering how these are attached as they seem to HEAVY for me to lift!
Are they something that needs to be hauled out of my garage every time I want to use them or are they permanently attached to the camper?
Bill K
The part that is heavy is the part the slides into the receiver on your car.

Karalyn, you could leave the heavy part (hitch head) on your car during towing season, removing the light weight arms for every use. I am sure you would want to take the head off the car when not towing season.

I would recommend against leaving the heavy part attached to the tow vehicle when driving without a trailer. It sticks out pretty far, is ugly, might interfere with your tailgate, etc. I can imagine some interesting parking-lot accidents, too.

By the way, if you are not used to lifting heavy loads, learn how to do so BEFORE you screw up your back.

HOW HEAVY?
I thought that WDH looked heavy!
My back is bad now. About what weight will I be struggling with?
Maybe I can not do it on my own 30.gif 27.gif

I'm sure Gina will pop in before too long. She needed to add a WDH to her setup match for the Burro/Jeep Liberty. She does fine and she's a petite gal. Here's the topic and a pic:

I just investigated for you. Mine is a bit under 40 pounds, but, with planning, I can slide it around the driveway, and lift parts of it at a time. I never needed more than two fingers and a thumb to lift it into place.

I will be hitching up next Thursday. If you can wait that long, I'll post a photo-essay.
