Just to let you plan ahead for next year Jonell and I are working with Goose Island campground south of Lacrosse Wi and the Lacrosse tourist department for next years EggFest Scamp camp.
It will be held the second or third wekend in September 2010 depending on when Laborday is.

Some thing planned are Eco riverboat cruise on Saturday afternoon - evening, Amish tour and other sites on Friday.

We have two options: The first is being near the shelter with some sites on the river. But there is a lot of traffic thru there as there are 400 sites there. The second option is at the far end and we could rent a tent type shelter. I have one 10 x 20 shelter and may be able to borrow another.

There are lot of Bike trails around the island, and you can rent a canoe and paddle 4-1/2 hours around the island.

Both the county ( park owners ) and the city are eager to help on this event. 94.gif

let me know what you think. confuse.gif

Sounds good to me. My Cloud should be ready by then. I guess I would prefer near the shelter but I will attend in any case!

If we can go, I do not need to be by the river with the mosquitoes. What are the hookups in either place? I prefer water and electric.

Thanks for the info. Labor Day is 9/6/10. When you know which weekend it will be, we'll make reservations!

the park director and I will be meeting after the first of the year to set the event up; which sites we will have, when the event will be, how registration will work, and shelter.
I am leaning toward using the end of the camp ground that is nearer the permanit shelter. there will be more traffic as all of the other camper have to drive through there to get in and out of the campground.
I will be keeping you'all posted.

Large 21" box fans seem to be a standard at this campground ( to blow away the mosquito's) and it seems to work. We have been here before and like it. I remember electric not so sure about water.
I recall deer walking through the park around dusk.

Any news yet. Our June is filling in fast. Other blocks of time are getting penciled in now.

I have been trying to get in contact with the camp manager all last week.
My 1st choice is Sept 15 thru the 19th, my second choice would be Sept 8 thru the 12th with Labor Day being Sept 6th.

You guys can chime in about your choices right away and the Majority will probably affect my decision.

Jim H can't wait to get the Casita and the Surburban out of the pole barn and out camping.

We have the date set now for EggFest 5.
It will be Sept 15th thru Sept 19th.

We will try and make this one! It was our second Scamp trip ever (2003), and remember it being very nice.

We will let you know later if we can come. Terry "may" have his 40th HS reunion during that time!
