Has anyone heard of using hooks on the walls of Scamps for misc. items? I have that stuff called " rat hair".

Try Velcro

I know people have used Drapery Hooks on the carpeted walls in a Casita. It might work in a Scamp as well.

Yep, both Velcro and small drapery hooks work well for the few items on the walls of our Scamp 13. L 'n D

We tried attaching a little DOT-IT led light to the ceiling with Velcro for a while, but it fell down several times and kinda fluffed up the spot in the rat hair where it used to hang. We have a small travel alarm clock that we Velcro to the wall in the loft, though, and that works pretty well, though it does fluff-up the rat hair a little every time it falls off or we have to take it down to reposition it.

My take is Velcro is great for lightweight stuff you plan to leave up, but not great for heavy things or stuff you plan to reposition often.

Velcro and fabric hooks are okay for very light items, but for something with a bit of weight (towel, jacket, flashlight, etc.) not so much. Raya, on the forum, pointed me to these things that I think would be great. These "Weld Mount Standoffs" have a "female" threaded barrel into which a "male" threaded hook bolt can be wound. There's a bit more involved to installing them, but they'll probably stay in place forever.

Drapery hooks are fine for glasses, watches, awning cranks, fly swatters and blue jeans. Not sure about anything else.

Yeap, I use drapery hooks that I've modified.

Left hook is stock, right hook is the one I cut off and bent.

They work well for hanging items. The items in the front of the trailer travel well. The items in the back of the trailer seem to fall off, so I make a point of taking them down before traveling.


Click to view attachment The Quail picture and Quail metal wall hanging are in the front of the trailer and have never fallen down while in transit. Hum, I never noticed that they aren't level with one and other and I'm a stickler for making things even and level. I guess I better fix them.

Office supply stores (Office Depot, Staples, etc.) have "cubicle hooks" that work. Preferred those, and eventually replaced the ordinary drapery hooks on our Casita wall carpet. Have seen them in both white and colors at our local OD.

I too use Cube Clips, here's my post (and pictures) where I've successfully used them to hold the window darkening covers in place at night.
