I'm looking for a 16' front kitchen Casita that needs minimal work.
I live near Bakersfield Ca.. I don't mind traveling a reasonable distance for the right trailer and price.

John, I've never heard of a front kitchen Casita. Have you seen one?

The Casita I looked at had the range and sink right in front of you as you entered the door and the refer was on the immediate left as you entered the door.
There was one standard size table in the rear and then a smaller one just in front of it.
The seats were probably at least 7 feet long. It was set up so you could leave the bed made up permanently and still have a table for 2.
I am not at all that familiar with Casitas as I am 6'2". The ability to keep the bed made and still have an eating area was what made this desirable.
If you have any alternative suggestions or a correct description please let me know.

John,

That sounds like the Liberty Deluxe (deluxe means it has a bath). If it has a bath, the bath is in front.

Casita's current models are here.

All three of the 16' (and 17') models have the capability of a full time bed with separate seating for two. The floor plans have not changed over the years.

Perry have you been inside one? Or did you just see pic's? Cause I am thinking at 6'2 you will be bent over getting in and moving around in a Casita. Plus what is your tow Cap for your vehicle? As said, all the Casita models have the ability to have a full time bed, and the Liberty would be the biggest bed which would work for you, but honestly I don't think you will like the interior height. I am 5'9 and I slide along the ceiling...............

Thanks for your concern Robin, but I'm spoiled now.
Last month I bid on a repossessed 2 year old self contained Coachman and my bid was accepted . It's like brand new, I love it but it is a little to heavy for my PU. I used to be satisfied with my 13' Scamp but now that I went camping for 6 days in my new trailer I won't be without a hot shower again or worry about tripping over my dog.
I have been inside the Casita. I have often wondered why they don't increase the interior height on their new models.
As someone once told me, you don't stand up in a travel trailer very much. I use heavy duty paper plates and plastic silverware when possible so my dish washing is minimal.
I like the floor plan and a willing to give up the height for the for the floor plan.
Thanks again,
John
