Is there any reason other than asthetics between a gloss and satin oil rust-oleum, like durability or something? What do new scamp trailer frames have? I just put on a coat of POR15 today and will be putting on a top coat in 2 days. Thanks

Donna D.
I do think it's a question of aesthetics... I prefer satin. And remember gloss will show dust and the like more than a less glossy surface. Too, no one said it has to be black 32.gif

Pictures???

goodposting.gif Danny,

The additive used in gloss formulations makes a harder less breathable surface providing a tighter linking of molecules to make the desired surface appearance.

Happy camping, Safe trails.

Thanks for the replies. I like the look of satin, but wanted to know if the gloss was like house paint and better in the long run. At least I know, but I still think I will go with the satin. With a base of POR15, I think it should be OK.

POR15 is the ticket! It really won't matter what you put over the top, in this case it's what's underneath that counts 53.gif There's a picture someplace here on the forums where someone had painted the tongue, rear bumper and wheels to match the tug. The trailer was white. Looked nice and it's one way to "match" the combination. Just something to think about.
