Yes, it has finally happened, I saw the post here, and called right away.

Spoke with Tom, the owner, asked lots of questions, and sent a deposit
immediately.
I pick it up next Saturday, so, a road trip is in order,
(and a little shopping, south of the border) yeah!

Finally, an EGG to call my own.

Will keep you posted.
Cheers, Jake.

Congratulations Jake.....
That looks like one mighty good deal and i knew it would go fast. I grew up in that area Sayreville,NJ (home of Bon Jovi).....by the looks in the picture it looks like he's in the president park section.... nice area. You did good and keep us posted.
Joe

Way to go Jake,

I considered sending you a PM on this, but figured you had already seen it. It looks like I was right.
Pretty soon you are going to have to change your profile to read Burro.

Yeah! Congrats! Enjoy!
Thanks very much everyone!

The fellow (Tom), selling it is very nice, and said that he is selling it for the same price he paid for it, when he bought it in 2006.
He just put new tires, bearings and bearing buddies on it.
He just cleaned and shined the inside, and had all the fabric cleaned as well.

Other than possibly updating the flooring and drapes/ cushions, he said that it really is ready to go, as she sits.

His friend base seems to be in Boating, so he said he just never used it enough lately,
so will use the money to pay for his boating fees for the season.

Yes, I think I really lucked out on this one, and I guess it is true:
Good things come to those who wait, (or are persistent or obsessed enough), lol!

Really looking forward to picking her up, and doing a little updating.

Thanks again, Jake.

Congrats Jake. Welcome to Burro Ownership, yours looks like its in great shape. I think you found the deal even better than mine.

Before towing away, make sure to check the frame for cracks where the frame is bent to form the A frame tongue. This is a common place for cracks, not a bad fix even if cracked just don't want to find out on the highway.

We love our 82 Burro, and hope you have as much fun with yours as we do with ours.

Mike

Jake, Congratulations, I hope it works out well for you. When I saw the ad I first mentioned it to a couple of local folks who had expressed interest in an egg after seeing my Trillium. When nobody jumped I figured it was time for a referral posting. I'm glad someone from the forum got it. I really like the sharing atmosphere here and it's good to be able to pay a little back. Thanks to all of you who've shared your experience and knowledge. Steve G

Congrats Jake. IMHO, you can't do better than a Burro . . even if I'm a little biased. Hope to see you on the road sometime.
cheers
Ian

Woo Hoo!

My "first" was a 13 ft Burro. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I second checking thoroughly for cracks. It seems to be a quirk of that vintage.

Hello again everyone:

Thank you very much once again, for all the great feedback, I am very excited!

[b]Roy, Yes, finally found one (EGG), now I have 2 trailers, oh dear, the stick and aluminum one will have to go after a little TLC, after all, I have owned it for 4 days, oh dear!

[b]MikeCM, thank you for that info on the frame cracks.
Apparently it had the front part of the tow hitch bent at one time, (someone backed into it) and has been straightened and reinforced by an RV dealer.
Hopefully the dealer at that time would have noticed any further frame problems?
I will certainly check the entire frame before departing on my 10 hour trip home with her.

[b]Stephen G, I agree with you whole heartedly, I love this Forum, Great People, wonderful sharing of experiences and info, and everyone is so helpful!
P.S. My 1st EGG, was a 1973 Pea Green Trillium 13', with the burnt yellow/ orange interior, absolutely loved it.

And again to all, I will keep you posted.

Camping season here in the north is just around the corner, everyone must be getting the itch to get out there and haul our Fiber porta homes to explore our wonderful countries. Yeah for road trips!

Cheers, Jake.
