Casita factory Pricing

Is he buying from the factory or a new owner?

In case if it's a new owner -- when the owner takes it out of the factory perimeters -- the value will drop some immediately (in the order of 8~10%). Maybe about $12,000 then depreciated?

A brand new one (Spirit deluxe) from the factory is about $13,000 I believe (loaded with all options). Depends what the options were, the owner should have a price sheet for the options and you have to add up option pricing and deduct 8~10% from the total trailer value I guess. Casitas come in many different sizes and different option levels in each size.

2002 value is the latest you'll get. Go into nadaguides values for casita (2002 values below) price the options and then add half the yearly depreciation (between 2001 and 2002 values) for a specific type of 2002 casita to the price, you'll get your mid-2003 used price. But then that's what is book value. If it's not mint -- it's a whole other story.

2003 17'

I could be wrong, but I think a fully loaded 17' is going to come in closer to $15K for a brand new one. You might get a new 17' deluxe for less than $15K, but by the time you add an awning and a few other extras, it's going to be up there.

Sounds like list price

That sounds like about what he would pay at the factory. Of course if you figure in transport costs and not having to drive to TX to pick it up, it may be worthwhile. However, if I were going to pay that much, I'd go to the factory. (Our 2002 17' SD cost about that amount with most everything on it--of course that was with Casita's ''frequent'' seasonal discount.)

13K for 17FT

Good starting price. My 03 17FD was 14K plus pick up. They charge $500 to deliver to Florida. And they may be selling some extras with it. And we all know how much it cost to set a new trailer up. I'm afraid to add it all up. Not counting the TV it must be over $1200.

That could run the total cost over 16K plus sales tax.

A little late...

...But anyway. A 2003 17SD with *everything* goes for 14-15K depending on how good a horsetrader you are. Delivery and tow set-up extra of course.
