I just couldn't wait, so even though not finished, I did finally get to spend two nights in my
Burro.
So far...
sub flooring has been replaced, reinforced and carpeted (temp finish only). Laminate hardwood is in the future.
Front top bunk has been removed, and bottom bunk turned into two seats and cafe/game table.
New foam cushions everywhere, fabric purchased (but need to sew the covers)
Exterior puck marks filled and primed to match finish, final
paint will be quite a while.
Headliner removed and replaced with auto carpeting (very
light gray)
All storage covers and cabinet doors sanded and primed, Need to decide on color (paint or Formica)
Door lock rebuilt, re-keyed, and reinstalled.
Window frames sealed, one slider to be replaced.
Roof vent resealed.
All exterior
lights replaced and rewired.
Major repairs/upgrades to go:
Get the frame reinforced where its cracked
Remove ice box and install
fridge.
redo plumbing including new faucet.
Test and or fix
furnace.
I can finally see the end, and have started to cross the line from structural repairs to thinking of decorations and electronics.
And best of all at six feet tall, I do fit when sleeping (clearly a hidden fear).
I have to thank many of you here for ideas, inspiration, and motivation.
Mike
