I recently purchased this 1962 CamPact unit and I am wondering if anyone may have some helpful info on this unit. Anything you may have that could lead me to the details of this trailer would be greatly appreciated. You can contact me by email at jbrown99703[at]yahoo.com or you can call me at 907-227-4858.
Not much information except this photo (apparently there was a link to another post mentioning an eBay auction, but the referrals don't seem to go back that far).
Well, this brought out the sleuth in me. I have found where someone mentions the "Camp-Act" teardrop in a discussion about the feasibility of making new molded fiberglass teardrops.
In the early '60s there was another boat-on-top "Trailerboat" and the just-discovered predecessor to the '80's Rovel-plastic Teardrop American, the "Camp-act".
Here's a link to the whole discussion, although none of the rest of it is about the Campact at all.

I think that you can have fun bringing it back to life. Would make a great little traveller for cross country tripping. Put up a dinette over the rear kitchen and you've got it made.
Hey Jason..I have that one also. Lets keep in touch as I dont have much info. Had mine for 30 years and need to work on it. Being in Az. had help preserve it..

Old post but this reminds me of the "NOMAD" trailer my family had back in the '60s. My brother and I used to take it to race tracks (Mosport, St. Jovite, Watkins Glen, etc.). When the tent was deployed we'd be sitting there with a boat … and no water in sight.

Ummmm..., Jason probably won't answer you because he's only had three post, all of them in 2009 and hasn't been back since that original thread inquiry. Sorry.

Hi there. I just joined and also have a CamPact trailer. It’s been in my family for over 55 years. Do you still have yours? I’ll round up some history o have and put together. I’m curious how many of these are in existence. My grandfather was told only a few prototypes were made before the factory burned down.
I just had a visitor stop in here in the Quartzsite LTVA area. He purchased a CampAct a while back from another seller. Not sure if it is one of the ones that was previously posted in this thread but it does seem likely it could be one of the two previously shown here.
He told me the company only made 10 of them during the short time they were being produced. He stated he is going to be doing some modifications to the roof to cut an opening to install a Max Air fan. Then he is going to add some type of blocking to the interior so he can insulate it. Plus the water tank, stove and sink need restoration work.
Hello, I'm Fulvio I recently purchased this Cam-pact in Italy , and while I was searching for information about it I found out this forum. Great!
I didn't even wonder the name of it, so thanks to all you guys about the information you provide.
It seems that only a few were made (about 10 units), isn't it? Is this Cam-pact originally from US or Canada?
Here some pictures about the teardrop
Thanks again for your help
