That is actually a very cool idea.. but the squat on that poor bug makes you question the cliams.

Wonder if any of those still exist? The look bigger than your average 13 footer.. they would be popular now, for sure.

I have seen a similar set up involving a different (larger) fifth and a chopped 32 Ford More door sedan (Hot Rod) up here (somewhere) in the Pacific North Wet, seen at Puyallup Good Guys event years ago.

I seem to remember an ad in either Popular Mechanics, or Field & Stream for such a rig, but they used a Dodge Dart as a tow.

Actually, my very first car was a Chrysler New Yorker '74. It had some sort of roof contraption similar to that. I'll bet that was it.
