1st Run a Good One

Just back from three days camping and paddling at Dildo Run Provincial Park - great weather, and one of the best paddling venues in Newfoundland - which is really saying something. Trillium was comfortable, towed well- starting to get the hang of it...

Here's a link to Picasa web album shots - eat yer hearts out...lol...

My Apologies

Donna et al,

The link I posted above is the wrong one - this one should let anyone with the link open the album. If you have any problems, pls. let me know.

Looks like a wonderful place to camp and kayak. Glad you had so much fun.

Oh and the only thing I can see wrong with your camp sight is....We weren't there with you with our kayak! ! Thanks for the pictures almost made up for not being there. Was great of you to share! ! !

Happy camping...Lynn

It Sure Is!

Dildo Run is an absolutely world-class paddling destination. The leads, runs, islands and tickles that make up Dildo Run extend close to 30 kms., all of it sheltered salt water with hundreds and hundreds of nooks and crannies to poke around in and explore.

There are a lot of campsites where you can launch just a few feet from the site, and the provincial park staff are truly good folks - they take care of paddlers, and of course other visitors, really well. There are sites like mine, unserviced, or with electric hookups, and a lovely shower/washrooms/laundry facility. New World Island, with Twillingate as the main attraction, is a spectacular place, even by our standards. And, of course, it's all in Newfoundland, which is one of the Last Best Places in this troubled world...
