Happy Fourth, everyone!

In the spirit of "think outside the box" (isn't that what FGRVs are all about) - we decided to go against the flow this 4th. Our beautiful White Mountain paradise is overrun with "flatlanders" for the holiday weekend, so we decided to park the camper and spend it in a high-rise hotel in downtown Phoenix! For $69/night (and a bit of "negotiating" by my wife) we scored a 2-room, 1.5 bath suite on the 30th floor looking north toward the mountains. Got to experience the first big desert thunderstorm of the 2014 monsoon season, visit the AZ Science Center, and watch city fireworks in air-conditioned, crowd- and traffic-free comfort from our hotel room.

I am thankful to live in a country in which "thinking outside the box" is not only permitted, but valued! Hope everyone had a super Fourth!

...fortunately for us (Canucks) that 'BOX' is ever increasing in size. We are in Washington stste for another sleep, then traveling on into Oregon and California for at LEAST one more week. Planning of rekindling many old friendships along the way, WATCH OUT Barb!!! LOL!!!!!!
