I don't really want a TV for the trailer, but then again, from time to time, I do.

As in, I really wanted to watch the vice-presidential debate...

And, I once left a motel I'd paid for and drove an hour down the road to a motel where I could watch the last episode of Survivor ( Hatch won ). Of course, the company paid for two motel rooms in different towns, but they didn't complain or notice on my expenses.

I've searched London Drugs, Future Shop, The Source, all the logical places, but nobody seems to carry tiny TVs anymore. I can find them on the web, but I'd rather get something from a local dealer. I'm assuming that I will be camped at a place that offers cable hook-up, but I'd be interested to learn more about the alternatives.

An alternative is software to get TV on my laptop. Anybody have experience with this? The problem with that solution is it isn't really my laptop, it belongs to the company, so taking it on vacation is a bit of a risk.

And, then there is the issue of all TV going digital early next year.

So, as you can see, I keep changing the channel, but all I can see is snow.

I know what you mean, all they want to sell are the flat screen ones. We have a DVD TV combo with AC/DC got it at Wal-Mart. Not seen any small AC/DC units for ditial yet. Good Luck, I was hopeing to see a good answer to your question.

We have a little 12v DVD player that's designed to be attached to a car's headrest so the kiddies in the back seat can watch a movie. It has audio & video input jacks (so they can attach a video game). Cost us $100 at Walmart.

To get regular TV all I need to add is one of those digital TV converter boxes, one that has an external "wall wort" power supply, build a voltage regulator that'll convert our 12V house power down to whatever the box needs, and hook it all up.

Eventually I'll get a digital LCD TV for the trailer, but not until I see one that has a more realistic power draw. The ones I've seen draw five amps at 12 volts . . . that's a lot when we're running on Solar!

My admiration. You can't slip anything by these moderators. Not a thing.

Nice edit.
