A frame at wrong end???

This cute 12' Cadet is for sale in our local Kijiji.

I was looking at the trailer's profile and wondered why they didn't put the A frame (tongue) at the other end. I understand that aerodynamics counts at the back of the trailer too but it seems to me this Cadet would tow better if the A frame was reversed.

On 2nd thought with the wheels located where they are there may be too much weight at the rear of the trailer if the A frame was on the other end. That may have something to do with it.

Why do you think it would tow better? I tow with a van, and getting the trailer as close as possible to the van is my goal. I want the trailer in the wind shadow of the van. I think a wind deflector on the roof of a shorter vehicle would help.

Some have said that a Snoozy should be mounted the other way as well. Like you said, aerodynamically, that would be better.

Wayne, if you put the tongue (A-frame) on the back side, the door opening would be on the wrong side for american campgrounds.

The Niewiadów company in Poland that made the Cadet did mount the body the other way round when selling their trailers to Britain, to get the entry door on the left side.

The slope of the rear window is irrelevant in aerodynamic terms, but the curvature of the roof is beneficial. Putting the sloping window at the front might make it look more aerodynamic, but wouldn't do anything to reduce drag behind most tow vehicles.

Looking at it one might speculate that was the way it was designed to be. And then somebody said "let's try a sell a few of these across the pond".
