a new Fiberglass Truck Camper owner

Hi

I'm up in Northern Ontario.

Buddy has a Fiberglass Molded Slide in Truck Camper for sale for 1 Gino.

I know that the Big Foots and Northern Lites are awesome but expensive.

Anybody tell me if this is an Ok deal? Haven't inspected it yet.

I remember seeing a couple just like it in Marathon Ontario a few years ago

and the brand appeared to be called Bison. Perhaps somebody took a mold

off an old BigFoot? Wonder how much it weighs?

More info to follow.

Cheers and thanks.

J

by one gino did you mean $1000?

that seems like a heck of a good deal - do you have any more photos? Are you going to buy it?

Neato looking truck camper. You didn't post in the wrong forum... there isn't a forum for anything other than molded towables... although I've suggested one be created.

Good luck!

Bolt it to a frame with axle and you are off to the races.

Update

Hi

Yes Sir, 1 Gino = $1000.00

Has a couple of areas needing repair. I can do glass work.

No tanks or bath which is what I prefer.

Measured it and I think it would fit my truck.

Going back tomorrow in daylight to measure twice.

Didn't look like any internal leakage.

Really nice and open inside.

Kind of wide and airy.

It appears to be 6 ft long.

The 4 jacks are not hydraulic but are heavy duty.

The show stopper is my truck is a 4x4 F150 2006 5.5 box.

The Previous owner had extensions for the jacks to lift it high.

I have a very lovely galvanized utility trailer that may work if I went the
Kentucky motorhome route.

Anybody have a picture of a nice one?

Comments appreciated.

Well, it's there and I can see it... So, since you're a new member is it possible your membership hasn't been validated fully? You should have received an e-mail and directions you need(ed) to follow.

I would guess that it will stick out of the back of a 5.5 foot bed, but who cares. If you like it and the price is right do it.

The only thing I'd worry about if it wasn't supported underneath, is would it eventually break down from walking in an out of the door area?

Probably. Older camper usually don't fit right onto new trucks because the bed side height is taller on new trucks. People make "pallets" to bring the camper up to the right height to clear the bed sides. Good luck, I hope it works out for you. I love truck campers, they are my favorite camping rigs.

I find two Bigfoot slide in truck campers on Craigslist, Colorado-Western Slope. One has a phone number so you can get more info.

More pics coming!

Keekers I'm in the middle of the Great Lakes..but thanks.

This camper is really neat. It has tanks but has a stove and fridge and

furnace. It's just me and the boys. No wife. She didn't like me.

Cheers

Well we like you and even if you don't buy a molded towable, we'll still like you.
