I used to enjoy going to the Harley dealership because I was one of the youngest, thinnest people there, That has slowly changed.
Now it's a nice, quiet BMW and looking hard for a camper.

Just had my 70th birthday, Anne just had her 67th.
Many many years of camping and backpacking before the trailer. Since 2006 we've spent well over 400 nights in the trailer and guessing at about 25,000 miles. The past couple of years we've been heading south for the winter. That accounts for almost 100 nights each of the past 2 years.
So far this year it's been 112 nights with more to come.

My wife and I retired 5 years ago at 58. We started fiberglass camping in 1977, 35 years ago. Our first fiberglass RV was VW Westfalia, ok, this was just F/G roof.
Spending 3 month per year in Poland, a great base for travelling in EU, limits our camping in US. So, Bigfoot trailer is gone, towing truck will likely go tomorrow and we will make a decision to continue camping or not. If we do, most likely scenario is going to be back to the future of a van. If it is a Sprinter it will be a big project for me and I am certain to figure out a way to use F/G in construction.
George.

Both of us are too young to retire but old enough to wish we could. We bought a Uhaul VT off ebay that we fixed up. It takes us all over. We park it and tour. Yesterday, we set up at a cute campground in North Liberty, IA. Today, we went to the Amanas, ate at one great restaurant, shopped, and finished up by eating at another great restaurant with my cousin and her husband.
Owning a camper has been life-changing for us. We no longer ask if we can afford a vacation; now we just ask where, when, and how many times? After this mini-vacation (We are actually scouting for a possible future rally we plan to host.), we will be taking a full vacation in a couple of weeks. And incidentally, we enjoyed air conditioning last night in our camper in this 100+ degree heat. The Harley riders near us were sweating in a tent all night.
I know what choice I would be making.

62,widower and haven't been able to get out much the last 2 years(helping a daughter through a divorce). There good thing, not such a big investment that I feel bad when the Scamp just stares out from under the carport. But it's already to hook up and go.

I'm 55 and bought my first FG trailer 2 1/2 years ago. Before that, I was pulling a trailer with my bike. I'm safe and dry now and I can lock the door at night. That makes my camping experience all the better. The bike is gone now, trailer is up for sale and I'm gone for 3 weeks on a new adventure. Love my FG!

I just celebrated the sixth squared anniversary of my 21st Birthday and Robert is 2 years my junior.
I see we skew towards the incline of the bell curve but are rapidly approaching the summit.

I'm 64 & on my 3rd FG camper. Actually my first experience is camping in one in the 70's for a couple nights. A few years ago when I got back into it I realized that the Casita I was using wasn't the first one I'd been in. That was a 13' Scamp.

Is it possible to get a moderator to create a poll on the age ranges in this thread so we can see what the curve looks like?
A number of ages were reported a little over 4 years ago in this thread.

I wonder if we can catch any little white lies?

Hi: All...My wife and I are ageless...and ready to embrace another career, that being government employees. Due to recent health issues I was warned in a dream to take it easy so refurbishing a 29 yr. old Boler became a rehab project in more ways than one.
Finding an Escape 5th wheel seemed to be too good to be true and it is!!! Being able to travel before it's to late is terrific and relaxing.

We're 72 & 76, married since 1960 & been camping in one kind of rig or another since that date. We've tent camped, & RV'd in everything from a pop-up to 32' 5th wheel. We've owned small/medium travel trailers, several cabover P/U campers, built & still use a 5x10' teardrop trailer, & just last year got 'into' fiberglass trailers with an '85 Scamp 13 that we're still 're-habbing'. We're still relatively healthy & expect to be using the Scamp (& the teardrop) for several years...

I think we bring the average age down a bit. I'm 37, the wife is 30 this year. We take our 5.5 month old son out to the provincial parks with us in our '74 13' Boler. I love camping whichever way, but the wife HATES tents. She thinks that bears are going to get her and everyone she loves if given the chance. Obviously the fiberglass is enough to stop a bear in it's tracks... We love the trailer and quite frankly, the boy doesn't care one way or the other as long as he has a dry diaper and a boob nearby.

But you can do 64-year-old level math!
Whatever the vintage, we are all like fine wines and the trailers are our vessels.

together we are twenty. 5 + 5 + 5 + 5. next year, the first one of us gets to be 21. for 20 days then we'll be 22.
seriously--we have done ALOT of camping since we've been together (38 years)....although it was limited to tents and tent trailers. having the boys (3) grow up and leave home has allowed us the freedom to go camping sans kids. and that's when a little more comfort became our treat to ourselves...and when we bought our OSOKOZY.
most of the other egg owners we've met have been on the "other side" of 50. but that's just our experience.
