Off I go.
The gas will cost me a bigger chunk of my annuity than I hoped.
I'll eat a lot of mac and cheese.
Thank God for digital photography (no more "twenty five cents per click" voices in my head)
I'll post pic here if I can do it with ease.

adios

From Spokane McDonalds

Donna dudes are slowing down... seriously. Trucks especially are driving slower (It may be my imagination but it is still observable). I drive 55 on every highway being careful to leave lots of room for the fasts ones. So far 14mpg sneaking up on 15.

Yes, the gas will be expensive. It will be worth it. I did it in 04 with my son. Man I wish I was going again.

We'll be at Ptarmigan Creek Campground, just south of Moose Pass.
Bears? Yeah, that's one of the reasons I like our little egg...

Speaking of the Kenai, at Anchor Point, AK (few miles north of Homer) the locals boondock on gravel beach west of the village where the Anchor River flows into the sea. It is north of the boat launch area where they use large tractors to launch fishing boats. I'll attach a couple of photos. We did not see or hear of any bears. Go to http://maps.google.com/ and type in Anchor Point, AK to get satellite photos of the area. Then try Homer, AK for some more good satellite photos.

Anchor Point (most westerly place you can drive to in the U.S.) is pretty cool.
