We leave in ten days. (On a cruise, however, not with the camper - that's just a bit too adventurous for us at this point.)

Is there any problems with taking a dog and cat through Canada? Would love to go, but not sure if we can pull it off.

No problem at all. Just show the Border Agent your Rabies Vaccination papers, and off you go. Just make sure not to take any weapons with you.

Alaska

We are also in Calif. We are interested in going with a trailer to Alaska. We are going to order a new Casita Freedom Deluxe 17 next week. We drove to Alaska last year without a trailer. Send me an E-Mail at, ajan52@live.com. Like to get in touch. We are down around Palm Springs. Arnold

I tow my Bigfoot between California and Alaska twice a year, up in the winter/spring, down in the early fall. It's an amazing trip.

I can't emphasize enough that your trailer and tow vehicle need to be in ultra reliable mechanical condition. What holds up on the Interstates in the lower-48 can easily be pushed beyond their limits on the Alcan - and there is little help in the far northern stretches.

I bring my two dogs and rbryan's advice is spot-on. If you have any other specific questions, post away I'll try to provide some useful information.

I would love to do a trip to Alaska at some point. But my passport expired a decade ago and I've never gotten around to renew it. I think I would also need an upgraded tow vehicle just to be sure everything goes according to plan. I'll have to see if something like this ever works out for me.
