All you Bigfoot experts....did they make 5th wheels in '98?

In all our searching for a Bigfoot 5th we saw trailers made from 1984 to 1994, never one past 1994. Now there is one listed on Craigslist as a 1998. Hmmmmm...... it's a real beauty. I wonder if it really is a 1998? We couldn't have spent that much anyway.

I was told by the factory that 1994 was the last year of the 5th wheel. The factory had a fire and the 5th wheel mold burned up. The pictures look like a 94 I saw at Ft. Langley last year. They made new decals. I believe it is a 1994 not a 1998.

If this trailer is exactly what someone is looking for, then they may be willing to pay the price. But it seems like a very high price to me. I would also be wary of the seller not being honest about the actual age of the trailer. Just because Bigfoot didn't make the 5'er after '94, doesn't mean this one is a 94. We don't really know how old it may be. The seller should have a title with the year on it. He should know exactly what year it is.

But scarcity will really inflate value at times. Lizbeth, I know you had a heck of a time finding a Bigfoot fifth wheel when you were looking.

I know I didn't pay near that much for a Bigfoot 21.5 bumper pull that was only eight years old at the time.

I am very aware of what 5ths cost. I have a whole document from my six month daily search documenting what was for sale and at what price. I personally think this trailer is priced very high in today's market but it looks to be very well cared for.

As far as the year of this Bigfoot 5th wheel being advertised as a 1998, I contacted the seller and told him that Bigfoot didn't make the 5th wheel after 1994. He re-checked the serial number and had mis-read 1993 for 1998. He said the whole number was very faint and when he held a flashlight on it he saw it was a 3 and not a 8. So it is a 1993. The seller apologized for his error.

thanks for the link booker. It sold for a year ago at 15,000, but now is listed for 16,000. Does anyone know if it has a winter package who all saw it?

Alexandra, the trailer on Craigslist is not the one that sold here last year. It's a different year and the bed layout is different.

I thought he might have changed the bed lay out the name is the same I think.
