Almost new Scamp!

My husband and I are picking up our almost new 13 ft scamp tomorrow! We contacted someone on the "list" to show us her model a few minutes away, and when we drove up it had a for sale sign slapped on the front. Bought this year, never used! We saved on the price/shipping costs & are thrilled! No bathroom, but we like the extra living space anyway.

Question re Winter: she did not use any of the equipment, or add water to the tank. Do we still have to winterized or is it fine for this year?

Hi, I can't answer you 100% because I've never purchased a new RV but I would think that Scamp would have done a leak test before delivery. I'm not sure how much water would have been left in the system. It may have enough left in it to cause a winter problem. You may want to call Scamp and ask them. I'm sure some other members will give you a better answer soon. Congrats on your new egg.

For just a few $ I would dump in some winter rv antifreeze then you will rest easy all winter knowing that in the spring all is good.

Wow! You are indeed lucky to stumble onto such a find! We love our 13' Scamp (without bath) and could not be happier campers/glampers. Wishing you many years of amazing adventures!

Wow, incredible find and story. Not many of those show up for sale in your neck of the woods.

Yes, we feel lucky! It just fell in our lap and we couldn't say no. We wish she could have kept it her barn all winter though. Oh well, they're meant to be outside, right?

If you have no bath then the only thing to deal with would be the water tank and taps. I would open the tank drain and tip the trailer in this direction as much as possible, open or pump the tap dry and maybe disconnect the line at the tank and leave off. If you have a holding tank, drain and add RVantifreeze.
