I was wondering if other members often see a neglected egg. It'd be fun to bring them home and have FGRV rescue facility and re-home them. I guess that's not a reality.

Since I've been a boleraholic (less than a year) I've seen several of these neglected beasts sitting in a field, lot or yard.

My most recent was today. Probably an early seventies, judging by the orange colour, 13' boler. Half covered by a tarp that was weighed down with rope and milk jugs full of water. It had a good growth of algae/moss on it and tires looked in rough shape. Definitely not it's first or even it's second season sitting under the tarp.

I wouldn't post it here and be responsible for looky-loos or repetitive and perhaps unwanted interest but to see it rot is a shame. Especially when I know how hard they are to come by and how fast they sell, regardless of condition.

I look, but the only fiberglass trailers I see are online. If if saw a neglected egg, I would try to contact the owner, (knock on his door), and ask if they are interested in selling it. If so, and if I don't want to buy it, I would ask if it was OK to post it in the referrals section of this site.

I bet this would lead to the rejuvenation of some deserving eggs.

I guess I could always knock or leave a note saying "I know someone who may be interested". Opening with "I belong to an online forum of people who like to restore bolers. There might be a buyer if you'd like to sell. Do you mind if I post it online or would you like the web address?" might be overwhelming for a cold call. I'd probably do it if I caught them out of the house and didn't have to knock.

Anyone thats serious. I know of three bolers in BC presently. One in metro Vancouver and two on one of the gulf islands.
