And round....four?

OK. I found a 13' Burro to look at. Guy didn't want to show it during the week or we would have gone tonight (apparently it is in unlit storage)...decided to go Saturday, but he wouldn't agree to hold it, so we decided Wednesday...and I talked him into showing it in the evening (as hubby isn't available tomorrow)...SO....cross your fingers and hope it is still there then! Has kind of a funky paint job, but no one will say they didn't notice us! I will have to replace the front bunk as the owner took it out, but he said he didn't take out the wood support under the window, so it should be fairly easy to replace (although I will need to have it built and then get a cushion made up for it). I trust this isn't a terribly difficult job. Has been redone in and out....I think it's an 1983....is $4500 a decent price? He bought it from someone he knows and said it's always been stored inside, so that's good....really wish I could go tonight or tomorrow, but I don't really see it happening, so I hope it's still there on Wednesday....

Seems a bit high to me. My former Burro was a '93 iirc, stripped out and rebuilt by a forum member so it was ready to camp in, for under $4k. But that was about 4 years ago, prices have gone up some.

We sold our 1978 13' Burro in 2007 for $3250, but maybe we could've gotten more for it. We needed to move it, since we had just gotten our UHaul VT. You can offer less than the $4500 and see if he is really firm or willing to dicker a bit. While it seems a bit high, sometimes you have to take what you can find or wait for a long time. You're eating up gas going to see lots of other trailers, too!

It should be in really good condition for that price especially in the fall.
Also make sure the paint job was done well and you like it otherwise that is another big project that I wouldn't be keen on doing at the price he is asking.

I see you are from Minnesota so you shouldn't be that far from Fargo, ND.
Check this out for much less.

Thanks Gene...I looked at the one in Cloquet...that was last weekends adventure. I haven't seen the one in ND, but it's a six hour drive one way from where I am. If I knew the ND one was good, I'd drive that far, but from my previous experiences, pictures can make things look much different than they really are.....The Burro I found has been totally re-upholstered inside, all new wiring for running lights (and new running lights).... The one in ND also looks like a new axle should be in it's future, so really the price isn't all that different....

That wasn't the kind if paint job I was thinking of!
That looks pretty snazzy and well done at least in the pic. Will be waiting to see what happens this round!

Propane tank painted black, BAD IDEA! Or is that just a cover?

Repainting the propane tank isn't a deal breaker... far from it.

I think the flames look neato!

Good luck Cricket

I thought the black was a cover on the tank...why is it not good to paint it?

There is a thread on the subject, but it boils down to the black, or any dark colour, causes the tank to get so hot that the propane expands and the pressure relief valve pops.
