At the dump station, watched some people with a rented motorhome put the hose through the window to clean out the toliet and then used the same hose to fill the fresh water tank with water from the spigot marked not potable water.

What did you break while you were camping and not paying attention????

Oy. I wish I hadn't read that.

BOBSMITH you are now dubbed as the THREADBUSTER! The intent of this thread was to answer the question in the previous post and the originate a question of your own! Since it was brought up that is a hilarious episode to watch unfold before your eyes at any campground! They probably vowed not to ever go back to that campground because the water tasted sooo bad!

My question following the outline of this thread topic..... Was BOBSMITH a fictional name made up just to register on this site or is it actually real?

Bob Smith is my real name. (Well, James Robert Smith.)

Do you know how many Smiths there are in the USA?

No, but then again I don't know how many Blandford's there are in Canada either.

What criteria do you use for picking an area to explore?

How far away and hard to get to it is, beauty, not too hot and I like a place that is a bit private.

What criteria do you use when picking a camp site?

Since we do not have Air Conditioning, I look for shady trees. I also prefer sites that are level side-to-side; but am not picky about front-to-back level.

How many hours it the maximum you'll drive in one day?

Frederick,
The older I get, the fewer hours at the wheel. When I was a youngster I'd drive 500-600 miles straight through. Now 300 miles is much more comfortable. Never really measured the time, since maps are laid out in miles and we travel from destination to destination.

What is the most unusual scenic sight you have seen on a trip?

I saw a dead Possum in the middle of the road (not the song, either) with a temporay yellow center-line tape strip stuck right up to, then over it, then on down the road. Hilarious.

I use a dilute bleach spray solution to sanitize ALL hose ends, fittings, etc when hooking up at a new site. It's just because of goons like the ones mentioned earlier in the rental unit. What do you use / do to prevent contamination?
