Thanks John. I'm beginning to think I am ok. The Bigfoot camper was made for a long bed and I have a shortbed but the difference in the weight hanging out the back in certainly no more than what would be on my hitch if I was pulling a trailer.
Another problem you might have is the bedside height vs the camper depth. You might need to make a platform for the camper to sit on. I love truck campers and plan on buying one if I ever find a great deal on one.
That is what I have to do too. Must rase the camper 1.5" so the rear cab doors open.

Jim, I had the self contained model and I think it was 9"6" and covered my tailgate.
The F-250 is more than adequate.

I leave the tail gate on and this 11.6' campers fits to the end of the tailgate. but I am going to install aribags.
