<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">Howdy!</span>
It's been a long time since I've had one minute to pop in here. I hope everyone's getting their campers out and dusted off. It's been FOREVER since I've held Lovey in my arms. She's getting a real squeeze when I pick her up this weekend!!!

Say, is there anything here where we can plug in where we live and it shows up on a map?

I added my husband to this one after we went to the Alabama football game last year. It's great!

Anyone up for this?

CasitaClub forums have a map like you describe.
It works pretty well!
I'm up for it!

Cool! I think it would be fun as well. It would make it easier to connect with other owners and perhaps induce a few GTG. For those concerned about safety issues, one could put a city or town near enough but far enough away.

Mods, what say you?

Same, here Dan. The website is hosted by Frapper and not at this website, is that right?
I think it is pretty easy to set up. I don't know that I could do it, but, I'd be game to help in any way possible.

Do you suppose we could color code it to match our particular camper?

Anyone else up for this?

Cool beans! There's already several people getting their locations on the map. I see the Mods have a link at the top of the page. If you click on that, it takes you to the correct page where you can add your information!

Cheers!

Good find, Gigi.
Thanks for the setup, Mike.

Like anything Google, this is cool, but to me it seems not-quite-there-yet. I wanted to add some places (not me), and after getting past the little "feature" that you must add your own location to join the group and thus to be able to add a Place, I put in the Places for a couple of egg makers. The problem is that outside of the U.S. you can specify the city, but not the exact location, even though Google Maps can find it (e.g. Team Trillium), and there's no way (that I have found) to shift the pushpin to the right location. For Casita, it could not find the city (Rice, TX), although Google Maps hits an actual Casita point of interest.

I hope these Place additions are okay: I thought we might want to share FGRV stuff like manufacturer's locations, places where meets are held, and so on.

Since I had to add my marker to join, I picked the middle of the nearest major city and placed myself in Edmonton's City Hall. No, I neither live nor work in City Hall.

I put myself in there somewhere.

It is not Firefox Friendly, but works great in IE.

Fun stuff!

I just tried it out in Firefox 1.5.0.1, including adding a Place, and it all seemed normal. It does use some Javascript, so you may need to enable Java.

Yikes! It placed me in the cemetery! I hope that's not prophetic.

Anyhoo, on the right road, just several miles to the west.

Well, I've moved the marker to the right house (amazing detail) but the map's not reflecting it. At least I know I'm not in the cemetery.
