On Friday, we took a drive to see the South-East shore of the Salton Sea. Looked at a mound of Obsidian nearby, then drove to the mud-pots. There is a lot of Geo-thermal activity in the area, and several alternate energy companies have set up to tap into it.

But this spot is just a local tourist attraction.

Awesome pics, Frederick!

We had a cold but otherwise fun weekend at our agility trial. We had the same campsite as before, with the same neighbors, up from Bakersfield in a 24' TT. This time I got pictures of our lovely campsite.

We were between two Eucalyptus trees, looking out on the fields in back.

I didn't bring any turkey along but did try "Stuffing Muffins" that I saw on TV. Mine were a bit too crumbly but still good. The trial itself was fun. Jack had a problem with distractions the first day, and Merlin, on whom we were experimenting with a lower dosage of his anti-seizure med, had a seizure, so neither did well. Saturday Jack improved greatly and qualified half his runs, and today he and Janine both Q'd in their only runs.

We had a few jailbreaks from the Xpens. We knew from October Jack had to be left in the crate when I was away, but he managed an escape under the big exercise pen gate at the trial site. When I started packing up and moved the EzUp case from by the fence, Teddy did a bunk and was found wandering in the parking lot mooching for food. I need to improve my side-fastening system so they can't get out between the trailer and the fence.

Hi Gina! I have no lap top so I went through withdrawals all weekend.

Kernville (Lake Isabella) was wonderful! Nice sunny days and freezing nights. Friday night it was in the low 20s! We "cheat" and use our big trailer for turkey day. It is now for sale and hopefully by next year we will have a bigger FG trailer, maybe a 5th wheel. Hey a girl can dream!

Our 1st Thanksgiving in the trailer!

We left home Thanksgiving morning for Morro Bay, on the central California coast, a 4 hour drive.

The weather was beautiful. We had b-b-que chicken legs, peas, salad, pumpkin pie . . . and the best Thanksgiving ever!

Maggie

We did Thanksgiving in the Casita again this year. Our son and his family always join us and camp next to us. This year we were on Lookout Mountain at Cloudland Canyon State Park and nearly froze our wheels off. We did, between us, have honey baked ham, pork roast, green bean casserole, turnip greens, stuffing, spiced apples, spinach casserole, pumpkin pie, pecan pie and the next day made apricot fried pies to take hiking down the canyon. The temp dropped to 29 Thanksgiving night and the kids sat out by the campfire. Not me, my old bones were beginning to ache but I could hear the laughter and the banjo music. So, we managed another "camping holiday" and enjoyed it. This makes the third year, in fact, since we got our Casita, we've camped each Thanksgiving.

I spent three days over T'Giving down in CO. Nights went to 7. But thanks to the Casita's furnace the dogs and I were cozy.
