Is anyone towing 16'' Casita with Chev/GMC pickup with the I-5. Have Sonoma with 4.3 V-6 which is fine but wonder if I-5 can cut it. Thanks for and thoughts.

Not exactly sure the pickup you are describing, I have a GMC, 2005 Colorado five speed. The truck also has the extra cab, or what ever you call it with the half doors and jump seats. I did a 6,000 mi. trip to Whitehorse last year and towed just fine. My Ventura is a little heavier than a Boler and packed quite heavily.

Sorry Dick, should have read the fine print --- you have a 16ft. and I have a 13 ft.

That's a good question. One that I have wondered about as well. My Envoy Inline 6 has been the perfect vehicle for my 16'. Since it's getting close to 6 years old I have been wondering about the I-5. I hope that I don't have to replace it anytime soon because the gas mileage is pretty good for an SUV. Since mine doesn't even know that it's back there, I'm thinking that the I-5 might be okay, even if a little slower.

Don't they have a tow rating of 4500 lbs? If so, it should be fine.

I am towing a 86 Fiber Stream with an 06 Colorado Crew Cab. Not sure how much the Fiber Stream weights compared to the Casita. It is listed as 1800 lbs. on the title. I have no trouble maintaining 60 mph. The torque converter clutch disengages going up steep hills and rpm goes to about 3000. My fuel mileage has been 15 mpg towing, down about 7 mpg without the tow. I run in third gear. There is too much shifting trying to run in overdrive.
