Trailer: 2007 13 ft Scamp
Posts: 5
Hello
We are looking into selling our old tent trailer and purchasing a Scamp. There are no Scamps that I know of in Calgary. Scamp has given me a contact in Alberta but I have been unable to contact them. Would anyone owning a 13' Scamp be passing through Calgary, Alberta, Canada some time this year. I would love to see what a Scamp actually looks like.

Thanks

Art

Trailer: Boler (B1700RGH) 1979

I have seen only one Scamp so far in Alberta, and that one was passing through and from New York state; they were never sold in Canada, so they are rare. I suggest that anyone here who is looking for this type of trailer in the 13' size should consider a Boler (if they are interested in an older unit) or a Trillium (older versions plus the current production Trillium Outback). In the next size up, there is the 17' Escape, in current production in B.C.

Even for someone planning to buy a new Scamp 13, a look at an old Boler 1300 would be a good introduction to the size and layout, and a Trillium Outback in a showroom (they're made in Calgary) would provide an example of what a new unit looks like in terms of finish.

The number of Bolers in Alberta surprised me, when I started keeping an eye out for them and thus started seeing them all over the place, usually parked in yards, rather than in active use at campsites. It should be easy to find one in Calgary.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.
