We were told by a trailer salesman yesterday that Burro is "back in business" because of the demand for small trailers. Does anyone know if this is true? I checked the internet but all I could find was their old website with a disconnected phone number.
Thanks!!

News to me, and we'd probably be among the first to hear, a large number of dedicated ears available. And lots of people on this forum would love to hear that piece of news.

I think one of the fellas here owns the Burro molds. At least that was the rumor a few months back.

As is often the case there could be some confusion between Burro Trailers and Burro Products. Burro Products makes two trailers one "Little Burro" the other "Baby Burro". Cute little trailers made to tow behind motorcycles.

If you like the Burro, you might check out the Eggcamper. It's constructed similarly to the Burro, and has most of the Burro's issues resolved.

Burro Molds
Greg, that was mostly an April Fools' joke. (It was an April 5th joke.)

Where are the molds?
My guess is they are in Mexico as that's where they were making the sides I think.
I believe I read something about that, the fiberglass sides were brought in to the Cal. shop.and put together.
Of course I'm getting old and may be wrong. I think it was on the pre hack site.

from browsing this site & checking out the Burro site, it seems that Burro changed their moulds at some point... my '81 Burro doesn't look like the ones on that site...
my door is curved, not flat, the taillight are different, & the flat space where the side windows are has a angle to the front of it, not straight up & down...
so did they alter their moulds at some point, or did they make a new set of moulds in the mid 80's-90's...?
if they did, would that mean there are old-style moulds & new-style moulds...?
i read on here somewhere that a set of Burro moulds were in Iowa, somewhere... what style are they for...?
sorry if i'm asking too many ?'s...

The molds used to create the models on the "newer" site (The wide bodies) are indeed different than your 81 would have used.

The "Newer" models were produced in Escondido, Ca., where as the older models were produced in the midwest.

It's all conjecture as to where the molds are.. tho a couple of reputable folks I know say they have spotted the old AND the new ones.

The new ones are supposedly still in Mexico, unused and unloved.

The old ones are still in the midwest.
