Quick, what do Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gary Coleman (Different Strokes) and Larry Flint (Hustler magazine) have in common?

They all announced yesterday that they (along with about 99 other folks) are running for governor of California.

Schwarzenegger was on the news today, saying his decision to run for governor was the hardest decision he has had to make "since deciding to get a bikini wax."

So, I guess, what I'm asking here ... is to all you fiberglassrv'ers who live in California ...

For whom are you going to vote?

Or are you going to move to the midwest before the election, where we're spared all of this craziness.

I'll bet a bottle of two buck Chuck (three-weeks aged) that Arnold will be your next governor, and will be a good one at that!

Of course, after a history of crazy ex-politicos like the twins Willie and Moonbeam Brown, Jesse Unruh, etc., even Gary Coleman might seem good!;)

And Monday, the carpetbagger in N.Y. may announce her intentions of moving to California and throwing her hat in the ring. No, move the rest of this to the ''jokes'' section.

Of all the aforementioned aspiring governors I think Jerry Springer had the most to offer. He has a genuine political history, he's smart and he comes off as rather sincere in recent interviews.

He seems to have a grasp of some issues that are important. Such as: Getting people back to vote. But he won't be running after all.

In my own humble opinion Arnold is least qualified and comes off as if he's been put up to it by an ambitious wife... speaking of political history.

Every place has problems with the people at the top and how they raise or cut taxes. We on the bottom have to keep paying and paying.

Here in Wisconsin some juggling on the state level made the county not responsible for ambulance service but the local townships are responsible. So that cost will be out of the county budget(no cut in taxes) but our township will be billed $22,000 plus charge per call for the next year. We had 5 calls last year. There are ten or twelve townships in the county and 60% to 70% of the calls are in the city.

The state is cutting the premiums for the county fairs out of the budget. So, locally the fairs will have to fine sponsors if they can. I would think it would be cheaper to keep the kids out of trouble then putting them though the court system.

So, California is not the only state with problems.

That's why it's so important that everyone keep their eyes on the shell with the pea under it.

The selling of Snake Oil is a great American tradition - one that will be with us forever.

Seems like adding to deficits or punting the problem down the line is the current fad as we all seem to want to avoid paying retail price for a civilized society.

Wonder, do they sell civilized society kits at WallyMart or Sam's Club?

When Daryl Issa (the SoCal congresscritter who provided much of the funding for the recall effort) dropped out of the race, many people speculated it was because of Arnold. During his 'dropping out of the race' news conference, Issa discussed his intentions if things didn't improve in California. He said 'I'll be back.' I don't know if it was an intentional reference to the familiar Schwarzenegger line from Terminator, but it did come off kinda funny.

Who will I vote for? The most libertarian leaning candidate on the ballot of course... :)

What I find funny about the whole situation, if there is anything funny... Is that Issa wouldn't be able to win the election outright, so he had to make and end run around the voters choice by spending millions of his dollars to get a fraction of Californians (many who didn't even vote last time) to recall Davis. After all his hard work and visions of being Reagan Redux... he gets blindsided by Schwarzenegger.

What comes around, goes around...
