Aspirin to dissolve toilet paper.

Read this on another site.

"If you put an aspirin in the tank it will dissolve the toilet paper.
In fact, you can test this yourself. One aspirin in the tank will dissolve tissue, Kleenex, even napkins (dinner) and disposable paper towels."

Interesting idea
I discovered this site that has a "test" to check the toilet paper you use in your RV.
I tested our household 3 ply and it dissolved/disintegrated almost immediately. My wife is happy she can continue to use her "soft" TP rather than the sandpaper finish on RV TP

Perhaps this is a organization for people with more time on their hands than me.

Yeah... and probably more on their hands than time!

One more "Headache" cured by the miracle drug!
Do you suppose taking low dose aspirin helps with the process?

What a thought! Sort of along the lines of "direct" deposit?

I just did this with my favorite brand.
To my surprise it broke up immediately also.
SCOTT is my preferred brand. Hmmmm.
When my RV rolls are gone, house and Snoozy will use the same product. lol.

Asprin is used to keep blood from clotting in arteries...maybe this is the same theory and process only for preventing other "clots"?

LOL I have never really bought into the need for RV specific TP due the small holding tank that my trailer has - its a good bet the tank will need dumping out long before anything dissolved totally.

Mine has a Thetford Cassette.
I put 2 oz. of the bottle that came with it.
I expected some roughage, but when I emptied it in the State Park toilet, only green water came out.

On behalf of the already over-stressed environment that many of us use our trailers to visit... please don't dump more drugs into our water because it might - but is extraordinarily unlikely to - make paper break down faster.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Would I save time if I just swallow the aspirin?

I agree with Brian, a search of the web did not turn up any source that mentioned using aspirin for this purpose. Just take your daily aspirin by mouth and deposit the metobolites in the toilet in the usual fashion and let it work that way. I expect the results will be the same, but you'll be better off.

Better to swallow the aspirin. I've never seen a problem with toilet paper in any reasonable quantity with big or small holding tanks.

Take aspirin with a can of Coke and it will dissolve TP even faster.
