Back in 'the' bed

This was the first night sleeping in the trailer in months, going from our new queen bed to the 'slightly bigger than a twin' Scamp bed. We're not one of the Scamp owners with the 54" bed.

We slept great, rain on the roof for most of the night, totally comfortable in our small bed.

NOT a fair comparison. I think you could be on a bed of nails and if Ginny was by your side you would be in heaven. Just sayin'.

My wife and I are not big people. I love sleeping with my wife but NOT in the 44" 13' Scamp bed! I dont recommend the 44" bed to ANYONE sleeping 2 people.

Darral,
I believe what you say is true for many people. I can tell by the look on the faces of fame and friends but this is year 8 for us.
Even Ginny and I are amazed how comfortable we are. Thankfully we're all different.

Voyeurism

Mike,

This whole forum is a mild measure of voyeurism, the sharing of one's trailer life, one's travels, one's little home through the net.

Personally it's through the road lives of others that sparked and confirmed my desire for the road. Of course Ginny and I have always like the new and travel, but the road life of others provided a different perspective that has worked for us.

Before we started I read every book I could find on RV travel, seeking nuggets of information. Thankfully so many were willing to share.

As well as books, people came to our home once we bought our first RV walking us thru the rig, talking of their travels, helping with problems.

We have never forgotten these people and remember them by doing the same for others. We have given 100s of tours of our rigs, and had numerous people to our homes sharing our fun and failures.

Voyeurism, at least in it's primary definition may be to strong, but on the otherhand I hope we express the love for each other and the road. Our travels have made both stronger and been a wonderful topping to our lives.

Mike, thank you for leading me to consider all the help we've had. Rvers are generally very good people.

The larger bed in the Compact II is what sold us on it. We had a 44 inch berth on our sailboat and never managed to both sleep through the night in it ( we also had a big V berth) a twin bed is 39 inches, you know!
I guess some of us are more snuggle-y than others!

I find the topic interesting because it goes beyond the width of the bed and to the differences in individuals. I like trying to understand differences.

As to twin beds, our FL place came with a single twin bed. We used it happily for a few weeks. Only buying a queen bed when overnite guests were coming... We always give guests our bedroom.

Relationships are about making your partner happy. Ginny is a magic person who always tries to make the other person at ease, as we travel I'm usually the other person. . I try to do the same for her, though I'm not as good but I do know the rule.

In bed the same applies, we find space for each other. We both enjoy being touched and if we wake the other we're happy to see each other. We also fall back to sleep easily. Our RV life style is nearly stress free. We don't ly here thinking about the problems of the day.

We truly have the easy life. The width of the bed is a nothing problem for us.

Here's a better explanation. After writing the previous post and wondering how sleeping in 44 inches works I watched Ginny for an hour. Eventually I gave her a light kiss on the lips, she awoke but not quite awake and said "I love you" and was almost immediately back to sleep.

I hope I not offensive with any of this....
