Hey, Christie! Can you give the link where you got yours? This SEVERLY BACKUP CHALLENGED driver would love one of these! Actually, I don't do too badly getting hitched, it's the rest of it that's TERRIBLE!

Being not from the lower 48 I find any reference to this marvelous item I desperatly need before I take out a park electrical outlet, stand of trees or any RV within 52 1/2 yards highly offensive!

I doubt the back up buddy will keep you from doing any of the above. But it might help prevent the ventilation of the tailgate on your tow vehicle. No quite the problem of taking out other RVs, electrical posts, etc., but tailgate ventilation might have a negative effect on your day.

I think Paddy's "complaining" that Jim won't ship north.

Somebody from down south must be coming to Emily in a couple of weeks.
How about getting them to bring it across.
Don't see what the problem is though, If Jim's mailing in the US, it costs a little more to mail to Canada. I'd pay it. Valued at under $20 CDN it comes in duty free.

I think you just found it (and it is us!)
Or Jim Kramme's ad, anyway, in our Miscellaneous for Sale forum.

Since we in the Great White North aren't allowed a Backup buddy I think we deserve our own.A couple of old broken fishing poles, a couple of blocks of wood and some rare earth magnets and we're set.Costs nothing and Red Green would admire us. Place one on tongue of trailer and other on towbar or vehicle.Look out back window and your aim is true. Jim

Sounds easy enough to make. Just need to know what is used to attach the fishing poles to the blocks of wood and the magnets?

Duct tape?
I'd just drill a hole for the fishing pole and slap some epoxy on the magnets.

Guess I was just wondering what kind of glue would last forever. Will try the Gorilla Glue. Thanks.

This is a true lo-buck, a whatever works thing. Just drill a hole to fit for the pole and a shallow hole for the magnets. I used 5 minute epoxy from the tube. The wood is leftover from an old table leg. You can add one in the bottom and it will stay on the tongue.
These are the second ones we've used in about twelve years. I didn't get too fancy 'cause they just get tossed into the back of the truck last.
