Actually it says 5 kg which is about 11 lbs, vs B@L which weigh at least twice that amount

Would that be a pound of aluminium, a pound of sterling silver, a pound of pretty paper, or all of above? Another vote here for metrification!

I note that the arms of the inner pivoting "U" of the Milenco "Caravan leveller" (Caravan is such a romantic name!) meet the nut on the elevator screw at an angle. I'd say cf. to the BAL, it isn't possible to employ the entire length of the screw to raise the tire and wheel BICBW. Hard to gauge the effective amount of "lift" from a photo so it's only my provisional guess that the BAL might just possibly have a bit more effective travel on the screw and resultant distance raised. Milenco ain'ta gon ta fold nary as flat neither.

Jim, has anyone ever commented that you don't have much of a sense of humor?

@ Jim,

You are the first person I've "met" who uses Bal levelers with tandem tires!

How do you coordinate the two Bals when leveling your trailer?

I have Tandem tires on my Bigfoot, and have been wanting to go with a Bal system. But I am worried about safety issues.

@ Shirley. Thanks for the "heads up" on the Milenco model leverler! If Jim can explain to me how to use 2 levelers, I'd definitely be interested in a lighter product (I hate dragging heavy things around!)

You guys crack me up!!

Jack - wouldn't the distance raised depend on the length of the rod? Size does matter, you know.

Here's a pic of what the Milenco looks like at rest.

I have 2 arms and use the B@L's in unison. That said I prefer these
Slant Levelers, Set of 2 - Pine Hill Plastics Inc D10-253 - Chocks & Levelers - Camping World
they will work and I have used them

I expect you're right, Shirley; I withdraw my rather shaky hypothesis (I wuz wrong). Also, when retracted, the angle on the "lifter "yoke doesn't look all that prominent (producing about the same total collapsed thickness as in the area of the welded tire support pads.) Appears that the screw and nut are detachable which is not the case with the BAL and might possibly help one avoid a fat lip or other owie. And an included helper bar helps. The storage tote is a nice bonus. What's the price in trade beads again?

Do you have a picture of that arm in action? That's worth a 1000 pounds you know.

Actually I count each turn in multiples of 10 and repeat on the other or do them both together, either way it seems to work. Someone else on the Escape forum uses them in tandem also.
You do realize it is impossible to show both in action and take the picture simultaneously. What would I use to press the button with? my feet?

I use two of them to level my Escape 19. I used one on my Escape 17 and when we bought the 19 in February I bought another one. They work very well.

This is great for me. Earlier in the year, the feedback I was getting on this forum indicated that it would be unsafe to use a Bal type leveler with two tires. But no one seemed to have tangent tires.

So, do you do the same thing as Jim, raise one up 10 turns or so than raise the second up the same amount?

yes, or sometimes in unison, either way seems to work.

I turn the screw in by hand on both until snug and then turn both at the same time with the supplied wrenches until the trailer is level. One hand on each wrench turning approximately the same amount each time works for me. I wear gloves for setting up and breaking camp so I'm not worried about grease that may get on my hands. We often dry camp in spots that are far from flat and these "jacks" are, in my opinion, much more secure than wooden or plastic blocks.

Cheers,

It is made out of aluminum and weighs about 10 lbs or so. The ads state that it will lift 16" tires. It comes in its own carrying case. Like the BAL leveler the Milenco model comes with a ratchet wrench, but also includes a 15" extension. It is very easy to use and I've never broken a sweat when cranking it up. I love love love it and like others have already mentioned, I wouldn't leave home without it!!
I went to the link to see. Nice, but expensive. However; did anyone else look at the Aquaroll? I think I'm in love.

Use a tripod and program your camera to take pictures at timed intervals, or get an assistant.
