Did you see the news about best in show winner at the dog show in NY?

The winner sure is cute.

His name's Uno! One of his owners lives on a little ranch in my county (central Texas) - not only does she raise show dogs, but she's also involved with beagle rescue. Our local paper yesterday said Uno will be hanging out with the rescues for a few weeks (months?) before returning to the show ring... (Usually the Westminster winner retires, but Uno's only a couple years old -- too young to retire... or perhaps, too popular! He sure was a crowd pleaser, over the weekend!)

By the way, Uno's the first beagle to ever win Best In Show at Westminster, and the first hound since 1964.

Geaux Beagles!

Uno is a beautiful dog and classic Beagle. He definitely deserved to win... and it's good to see it went to a breed considered "Not so foo foo"

My two did the Beagle dance.. they stood up on their hind legs, stomped and did high 5s.

Kitty wants an Uno Fathead for her room.

Good.. Uno proves he's just a "scamp" and a down home country boy!

I saw that article on the net. Now all Beagles stand up and "sing" the "Howlalujia Chorus"

I saw the last class on TV - when he was announced the winner, he got a standing ovation (1st time in Westminster history!!). He celebrated by joining in the applause by barking and baying (typical little hound). He is very cute!
