Well here is 2 led hanging candle lights I found...definatly not bright but I like them anyway. And got my backsplash in, just need to add a piece of trim at the top.

Thanks Donna! Im liking it, adds a little bit of colour to the galley, and lets face it, eventually I will cook more then coffee inside there, especially if Im camping in cruddy'er weather and getting splatters on the ratfur wouldn't be any fun.

I've been watching and reading what others have done. The rat fur behind the galley in my Scamp is pristine. But, I know one of these days I'll cook something with tomato sauce .

Did you pull the window? Was it difficult to cut the gel tiles? Inquiring minds want to know...

Well Donna, I didn't find out about the gel tiles till after I already used the 12"x12" glass tiles. The tiles are little 1"x1" glued down to a webbing. I made a backer board out of luan, rough cut the hold for the window and used a peel off adhesive to hold the tiles in place then grouted it. Wasn't a hard job at all... hardest part was getting the backer board to fit in place. The trim ring covers a few sin's lol. I dont have the tools to cut glass tiles so what I did was break a few with plyers outside to get around the edge of the hole. It's not perfect but once the curtain is in place no one would notice it.

Now Im thinking about makeing a 2nd dinette table and trying the get tiles on that one... since that one will be getting food spilled on it lol would be easier for cleanup.

My mom was pretty impressed with the way it looked...she asked me how I did it so fast...she thought I tiled it yesterday afternoon lol...told her I worked on it at home during the week.

The tile project is pretty easy. Maybe I should start this up under mod's to give people some ideas

Already told you on the other thread that I love the tiles but I also LOVE those candles- LED to boot!

Have been thinking of doing something behind my stove using the peel and stick gel tiles and wondered if anyone else had used them on a Scamp and if they would stick right to the rat fur or if better to use a thin sheet of arborite (rather than the thicker backer board) or something else flexible enough to slide under the under and lower cabinet edges right over the rat fur and sticking the titles to that would work.

lanterns

Hi Deryk, have been following your mods and decorating.
Great job.
We do not like to use batteries either but sometimes find it necessary.
We use rechargeable batteries.
We also have 2 Coleman rechargeable lanterns-they are quite bright.
We also have 2 solar lanterns that are great because they charge anytime and anywhere during the day.
We also have a small solar panal that keeps our battery charged.
Just waiting for weather to warm so we can camp somewhere.
Keep posting pictues!

Lookin' good, Deryk!

But about putting curtains on that particular behind-the-gas-flame window...I hope those will be something non-flammable too!
