My 100 foot water hose. I have used its entire length many times, and even had to use a 25' with it a few times, but is by itself invaluable!

gotta agree with that. I was fortunate to check and my wrench for my Dakota is the same as my Boler nuts.

The trouble with using the wrench that belongs to the TV is when you change out the TV. I found a folding 4 way at Wal-Mart. It tucks nicely away with the bottle jack.

About a year ago I bought an insulated French Press coffee mug for camping. It make almost 2 cups of very delicious coffee. It is so great I bought one for the house and I use it to make my morning coffee.
I only use my drip coffee pot when I have company.

Okay, simple but very nice:
Wheel chocks are much easier than chunks of wood.
Long BBQ-type lighter sure beats matches for furnace and fridge.
And pockets all over the place....

First is my A&E (now Dometic) Horizon awning. I use it all the time and enjoy the added space.
Second would be the memory foam mattress. I hated sleeping on the dinette cushions.

First would be our 8 inch memory foam mattress and second would be the electric hot water pot, followed by the whistling tea kettle for when we don't have electric. We usually do everything outside so I heat the water we use for tea, dishes, and outdoor hand washing in one or the other. Don't have to fire up the water heater that way and it is faster.

So many things make our camping nice.
the power hitch, a/c, awning & heater
two zero gravity recliners makes for perfect naps
picnic basket that sits on outdoor table and holds salt/pepper/plastic wrap/foil/cooking tools -- so martha
memory foam & down comforter
...can't wait to use them all

Kurt & Ann,
What's a "19 foot casita?" Do you have photos to link to? I'd enjoy seeing your modifications.
Although we rarely boondock, I'm very happy we have the 2 6 volt golf cart batteries to extend battery life to 5 (?) days or more.

Kurt has extended the tongue on his Casita to hold a generator, 10 propane tanks and a small village.
I can't think of a "single" item I would not go without since purchasing. I want them all
I think if I had to isolate just one, I would have to say it is my solar charging system. All else can be adapted or improvised to do the job, (Think how you managed with a backpack and a tent) but energy generation is something that provides the most comfort and convenience. And if I have to do very little to get the generation to work, then thats even better.
Set and forget.. thats my moto...

For us the memory foam mattress is the most important investment we put into the trailer. A good nights sleep is so important.
Many things are nice, we enjoy the awning, the furnace, the high rise axle. We like the stablizers for the front. And Dallas the cat is important to life in the trailer.

I was looking at the shower-toilet combinatioins.... ths may sound wierd, how do you keep your toilet paper dry? Do you have to take the roll out when you have a shower? Just wondering.

For the past year I have been struggling with satellite TV for camping. This is not turnkey, but satellite TV on the cheap. The dish was free at the dump. The receiver and access card are from our second free DirecTV set-up at home. Nothing is permanently installed, yet. I think you get the idea. It's fun to have something to fiddle with. The first time camping with the set-up was a bust. Couldn't get anything on the TV at all! Then came the rehearsals in the driveway and at the storage yard. I did a little research and figured out how to point the dish from anywhere I go camping, anywhere in the country really. The only essential is a good compass. In fact, the process of setting up and learning is often more entertaining than the TV programming. The next challenge is to set up strictly on 12 volt battery power. It works in the driveway, but haven't tried it camping yet. And I don't really like watching TV that much when I'm camping.

We used to use a metal coffee can with plastic lid. Perfect size.

You can install a marine toilet paper dispenser (like used on boats), or simply put the roll in a dry plastic box. We used the plastic box in the casita. Bigfoot has marine units.
