Bigfoot is hard to see .....

Well, in our continuous quest to find a RV we are very interested
in a 17' Bigfoot. It looks like this is the smallest model that
will meet our needs. (I thought bigfoot lived in Oregon).

I am really having trouble getting info and seeing one! I called
our local Bigfoot dealer and he basically said the only way I could see
one was to order it! He said I could see a bigger model but he will
never have a 17' on the lot. He did say that they were expecting
one off the line in July and I was early enough to get it in the
configuration that I wanted but only if I put a down payment on it.
Otherwise it will be sold before I could see it. They did not even
offer to let me see a sold one. Did not seem very interested to
even work with me.

I have sent requests directly to Bigfoot, to Rosmans (sp?) and to
Gib's RV but none of these have responded.

I guess if I were buying a bigger model, I wouldn't mind buying it
signt unseen but with the 17' model, I really want to check out the
size and the "feel" before I buy.

So how did the rest of you Bigfoot owners get yours? Did you go to
Canada? My wife says she might like a trip up the coast to BC.

I can't believe your local dealer couldn't/wouldn't help you more. To ask you look at a different size than you want is dumb on his part. If he doesn't want to stock 17's then he's missing a large part of the marketplace and it sounds like he'll lose your business.

Here's 3 17's that you might want to look at

two other things:

Walk onto your dealer's lot and look at any he might have in stock. I never asked when I was looking - I just assumed I could do as I pleased - no one questions a potential customer. :o

Don't assume that because someone has a website or email, that they will respond to you. I know we would all like that, but it seems there is a large part of the world that refuses to utilize the internet in an efficient manner. That's their choice so......PHONE THEM!

(I'm speaking from experience!) :) :)

Thanks Rick, You are always a good source of info. You are a good
salesman. Do you get a commision:lol This is good comparison info
but ... I really need to stand in a 17' unit to see if it is
comfortable for my wife and I.

Bill, my two vehical is a Avalanche so a 5th wheel will not work for
us.

I still really like the photo's Rick posted ...

I think you are right about Web presence though ... hard for us
techies to see.

Hey Joe - I'm just trying to help. :) (but I'll gladly take commission to anyone who offers...lol)

Bottom line is that if I was an American and wanted a Bigfoot - I'd head north - no doubt about it. But I'd look for used, as the new ones are steep in price. They do hold their value extremely well...it's just that my pockets aren't that deep.

The 17's have the same headroom as my 21, and as I've stated before my brother (6'4" or more) has no problems, and he's experienced more that a few dents in his head in his life time. :o
