Bigfoot Winter Package

Does anyone know the first year the manufacturer put the winter package in the 17' Bigfoot trailer?

Tamid I don't know for sure and as you may have discovered searching Bigfoot in travel trailer context is difficult on the interweb.
Understanding the package was offered by option and not default I want to say 1993-1995.

Hopefully someone has a more accurate answer than mine.

Yep an option. Certainly not all Bigfoots of any vintage automatically came with the four-season package. But, when it started as an option

I could be wrong but I think it was started in 1994-95 after the factory fire. I don't think I've seen one older than that with the "winter package".

Yes, Lizbeth I think that's when BF introduced the 1500 series and the winter option.
Of course there's always the alternative winter option package!

Actually, I have a '92 with the winter package.

Jane does yours have the dual pane windows? I know you said it had the interior holding tanks. What else makes the winter package?

It has dual pane windows and the plumbing is encased in fibreglass. If you look underneath the trailer, you won't be able to see any pipes. The cabin is double insulated. Last Spring I traveled into the Rockies with a faulty heater. I spent about 2 weeks in 35 degrees & was very comfortable. That package saved the nite!

You may recall that Alexandra Baldwin & you suggested to me that a 4 seasoned Bigfoot would better satisfy my needs than a Casita. I will be forever grateful for meeting both of you that day.

I'm glad it has worked out so well for you. Hopefully we will get to see you and the trailer (and the dogs) at a rally sometime.

I'm trying! But most of the rallies R the same weekend of field tests!

Jane,

I note your avatar indicates your Bigfoot is a 19'. Did you have a 17' that had the winter package?

Cheers,

Hi Tamid. This 19 footer is my first Bigfoot (actually it is my first travel trailer). I do know that Bigfoot did offer Winter packages for their 17's. To be sure that the trailer has a Winter Package, look under the frame. True "4 season" Bigfoots have their plumbing pipes encased in fiberglass. If you can see the pipes, it not a winter package.
