Blowout

Well, it finally happened. I had a blowout on my trailer on hwy 99 north of Chico yesterday. Nothing serious happened except a funny noise and bumpy feeling. I thought I had a flat on my pickup. When I got out and walked around I found the flat on the passenger side of the trailer. I had been talking about getting new tires, but had just put off purchasing. Had even gone so far as to price new Marathons. Well, to make a long story short I didn't buy Marathons, but a similar tire at Les Schwaub store in Chico. I was over 300 miles from home in 90 plus weather and didn't want to drive home with no spare, so I purchased the tires. The tire that blew was one of the three original that came with the 13' Scamp about six years ago. Guess it was time, just sorry I didn't follow up on my first thought of purchasing Marathons from my local dealer a few weeks ago. Other than that, my first trip of the year was fine. To Reno, to Cabelas to buy fly tying material, home via Marysville, Chico and Redding. Hot but not too hot. Marg in NW California

Cabelas is worth the trip to Reno. The first time I was there I thought I was in heaven.
Glad your flat was not more serious.

Sounds like I did the right thing by replacing my original ties last fall on my early 2006 Scamp.

I have Les Schwab tires on my tug and the spare on the trailer. When the Marathon's on the ground need to be replaced, I'll buy the tires from Les Schwab. But then again, I seem to only travel within their selling region so repair/replacement would be easy for me.
