Has anone had any experience, good, bad or otherwise with Boler Works in Calgary, AB or has anyone seen any of their work? Thanks

I have heard of them before.I saw one that was rebuilt there.It was terrific.I would think cost be very high to have one done.

Did it look like a spit and polish job, or the real meat and potatoes? Just I see so many shady outfits doing quickie cosmetic refresh jobs, but a lot of times they are only skin deep.

It was spit and polish both inside and out.It was very functional and well done.I would have loved to have it at that time.

They're booking for spring 2007 completions right now so they must have some flux capacitors...

Probably some guy in his garage... Looks like interesting work though.

I sent Boler Works an e-mail message a long time ago, when they first appeared; I never received a response. I was talking with someone else who had a similar experience. My guess is that it is a very small operation with no time to update their web site or respond to the public. The content on their web site has changed since they started, with additional trailers shown, so I assume that they have been actively conducting business.

I also suspect from this comment on their site...

We don't sell parts. Most of what we remove is not reusable. Any spare functional parts are used on our restorations.

I suppose a Delorean could tow a Boler 1300, but you couldn't use ST-type tires for the 88 mph run...

I don't think this is necessarily his/her target market... I bet the target market drives shiny hot rods built by a 3rd party... From what I can see, there are two kinds of people in that group... Those for whom doing the work is most of the fun and the social scene a close second, and those for whom the social scene is important and can afford to sub out the work... I think it's the latter group who are the target market for Bolerworks and we'll never see those people in this forum. Nothing wrong with either... Don't get me wrong (I know there are some hot rodders on here)...

Hi: I would like to send our Boler to a Charm School like Boler Works but I have the same concerns with $$$'s and distance being the major stumbles We have a great Boler "Finishing School" here in Sebringville Ont. run by Paul Neumeister... He had his rare 1650 square Boler @ Emily...WOW what a remake but if I had to pay for that amount of time spent

A friend of mine is a street rodder and he also has reported on the popularity of moulded trailers with that crowd; Doug Mager has also mentioned it here. With the street rod / hot rod community much stronger in British Columbia than the Calgary area, the move by Boler Works to BC fits well with that likely market.

By the way, my friend is a build-it-yourself custom car enthusiast, not the write-a-check type. Both make valuable contributions to the field, just as both do-it-yourselfers and Boler Works can contribute in trailers.
