Brake attuator

I while back someone talked about an electric brake attuator you put on the trailer tongue and not in the truck /car . Dose anyone know of this and have the name of the unit. Thanks

I'm guessing that what you are talking about is a breakaway switch. Which applies the trailer brakes if the trailer and tow become separated while traveling.

A good guess based on the spelling, but I never saw a break-way switch mounted inside a vehicle...
