The photos below were from a poster on another RV group who was driving with her family when a car came across the road at them. She tried to avoid it, but it hit them, went UNDER the 5W and tore off the axles. Nobody in her truck (four) was injured, but the car driver was airlifted out with serious injuries.
She said most of the stuf that was ripped from the trailer wound up inside the car... Except the axles, which came to rest up the bank in the background.
One photo is her rig, the other photo is an"after" shot of the car.
She reports that the Reese 5W hitch was still nicely attached!
