Bunk Bed Question

Does anyone know how much weight the top bunk on a Scamp can handle?
Any and all anecdotes welcomed. Thanks.

I've heard only 100 lbs. Needless to say, whether its 100, 120 or 200...I'm not going up there!

From what I've seen stashed up ther on some Scamps , I'd guess around 3-4 tons.

I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult to reinforce it? But you're right, putting stuff up there, probably won't break it, but I bet I would after a couple of nights, and the person below me, would suffer greatly.

I had a Scamp that I used for Hunting trips. The front bunk was needed for the sleeping space by my friend that weighed 225 pounds. I cut a 3/4 piece of plywood to reinforce the bunk and it held him fine for a week. Now my other friend was sleeping on the bottom and said he felt like he was sleeping in a casket due to the top bunk being low. He also got cold on the bottom because the guy on top had his sleeping bag hanging over and it sealed off the heat to the bottom bunk. While we woke up feeling good and rested, he said that he didn't sleep very well from being cold all night. LOL!

Its funny you mention that. My kids are too young still to sleep in the top bunk, but I got in the bottom with the top up, and man it sure makes it a lot more claustrophobic. But I never thought about a hanging blanket or sleeping bag!
