Bunkbeds to couch coversion question and what is this pole for?

So in the bunkbed poles do w need to unscrew the screws each time we want to convent the beds into a couch? Seems like there would be way an easier
Not sure why pics upside down but single pole alone right by door

Did you send this photo from the international space station? Or perhaps it is upside down.

When I got my scamp I thought I would have to unscrew it every time but nope - I can rotate the pole to free from the screw no tools needed . Now if someone tightened your screws this might not work.

Yup someone tightened the screw super tight..I get it now thanks
