Does anyone have an owners manual for a 17' wide body Burro? If so, would you be willing to share a copy of it??

We just bought a 2000 model, and although we are the third owner, it is in great shape, but we don't have an owners manual. Well, at least I'm TOLD that it's in great shape... my husband has been gone for three weeks now after picking it up in Las Vegas to drive it home to Oregon. I'm really beginning to wonder if I'll ever see him again! At least he is having a great time with our newly adopted egg.

Anyway, we are wondering about things such as the capacity of the grey and black water tanks. I poked around the burrotrailer.com website and discovered that the fresh water tank is 17 gallons. But since the company is no longer in business, I can't obtain a manual directly from them.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! And wish me luck in getting my husband (and Burro) home soon!

Adonna, check out the Document Center in the left nav bar. The Burro manuals are under the Trailer Brand stuff. Even though I put them there, I can't remember if there's a wide-body specific manual or not

Thanks for the hint - I'm new to this site!

Unfortunately, the only Burro guide listed is the 1981 Burro assembly guide. If someone does have an owners manual for a newer model, maybe it can be added to the Doc Center.

I don't think there ever was a specific manual for the whole trailer, but there was instructions for the kit models that had hand drawn details of certain structure details.

I got a packet with original documentation with mine, and it only included manuals for the appliances, nothing specific to Burro itself.

You've come to the right place. I have the same trailer, and I have high-res scans of the Manual, the "Preparation Guide," the Refrigerator Manual, The Furnace Manual, the Hot Water Heater Manual, The Cooktop Manual, etc. Have I left anything out?

PM me and let me know what you need. If the model numbers match up I'll print them up and send them to you. If you have any questions now or in the future I'd be glad to share what I have learned in the last 6+ years. Just ask.

I'll predict you'll love the Burro.

No, that is Big Lake with Mt. Washington in the background. Just a few miles south of Hoodoo ski area. Great place, but the shoulder seasons are probably best because it is often very crowded.
Donna has these documents, but they haven't made it to the D.C. yet. I should check with her to see if I sent them to her in the wrong format.

Hi - We've got the same Burro. I got all the papers the previous owner had, but it was just the "accessories" manuals from Dometic, the furnace, the A/C,etc, not a manual for the Burro itself . The Only one it had was for construction of the kit. If there is a regular manual like Per suggests, I would like to have a copy also. Keep us posted everybody, please.

Oh yea, and you'll LOVE your Burro!! Christi

P.S. I'm thinking if the Burro did not actually manufacture any of the parts and had the shell finished as a kit, maybe there IS no other manual than an "assembly"manual and manuals for the various parts from the manufacturers themselves.

Makes it pretty difficult when you're trying to figure out what a 12 volt system is, etc., but this site has ALL the answers - and fast too!!

I now know for a fact that there is a manual.

I bought the manual today, and the owner threw in a 17 foot wide body with it

mull that around, thread to follow!

Congratulations on the new egg, Gina!
Now scan that manual, and send it to Donna... or, even better, get Document Center posting privileges and give her a hand.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

I just finished printing and assembling a copy of the 2000 Burro 17' widebody manual for Adonna. If you think it would be helpful for yours, just let me know and include your mailing address. As "manuals" go it doesn't go into excruciating detail (about 15 pages) but it is nice to have, I think.

Per - Thanks so much for copying the manual for me!

Alf - FYI, my husband (and the Burro) left Monterey, CA this morning and they are slowly moving northward. Who knew that it takes 3 weeks to travel from Las Vegas to Eugene, Oregon with a Burro??? (I should have figured that travel via Burro would be REALLY SLOW.) I'll be sure to let you know how the story ends!

If all you Burro owners ask really nicely, Pete and I would be more than happy to provide plans and photographs for installing the obligatory brick fireplace and chimney in the Burro.

It's hopeless. My list of future mods is growing faster than the mods finished. I just added the fireplace to the list, just below the roof-mounted remote-controlled trebuchet. Will it never end?
