Adrian, I'm sorry to hear that.
About one third of our state parks are on a list of possible closures here in Florida for budget reasons. None of them have campgrounds, however.
Ft. DeSoto county park (one of Florida's loveliest campgrounds), is considering an additional day use fee to stay open... Raising campground fees increased revenues, but the local paper says expenses are up by twice the increased revenues. It's an enormous park, and beautiful.
