Campfire-In-a-Can question

Hi,
Does anyone use this Campfire-In-a-Can product or something similar?

The Campfire-In-A-Can propane campfire / portable fire pit - Campfires and Fire Pits .com

If you use it how long does a 20lb tank of propane actually last? I was thinking of getting a 20' hose and running it from the trailer propane tank.

Ummm no my campfires use wood. However it'd be a nice alternative when there's a fire ban like we had for most of the summer in Alberta.

Yes, I have that exact setup. The Campfire output is variable from glowing embers to a raging bonfire. The 20lb tank is going to give you a fixed number of BTUs. Figure a couple days continuous use if you don't go crazy with it, or a week or ten days if evening fires.

Nice but too pricey! At $279 plus taxes it's well over $300 pocket change here. I can put up with a lot of smokey ambiance for that price and I don't have to bring it along or pack it up and carry it home.

PRICEY? In July we spent 3 days at a Wisconsin state park. We were not allowed to bring in firewood, gather firewood in the park or take firewood from unused campsites. The park sells a small bundle of certified firewood , birch and cedar (IMPORTED FROM GILBERT MINNESOTA) for $4.00 per bdl. A bdl is enough firewood for maybe a one hour campfire.
At the end of three days our bill for firewood was close to $50.00.
Running the numbers in my head the propane campfire could be cost effective .

We have one on our hot tub deck that we surrounded with rocks to make look like a real campfire ( wanted something we could turn off & on quickly) works good...but have never taken it actually out camping with us

They cost about half that USD $150 or less, I think they're $130 now at Camping World. Somebody posted here about some huge fine for accidentally driving a single stick of firewood across the border into Canada, so the CinaC could be a better choice!
