Question Camping in Albany/Corvallis/Salem Area?

We need to find a RV Camp site near Albany, OR.

We will be spending several days at a retriever training facility.

We're looking for something that is clean, safe, quiet and economical. And accepts dogs.

Would prefer full hookups.

Would help if we can easily "air" our dogs in AM and after dinner.

I was hoping that you may have some recommendations.

Thanks,
JP

We recently stayed at Blue Ox RV Park in Albany and found it to be clean, quiet and safe. It is on Hwy. 20 just east of I-5 so has easy freeway access, about 20 miles south of Salem and 15 miles east of Corvallis. It is next to Timber Linn Park so there is lots of grassy area for the dogs. The Blue Ox RV Park

Brian already suggested Waterloo County Park in another thread which is also a great choice although a little farther from Corvallis, but less expensive than Blue Ox.

Hi Jane, don't know if the KOA in Albany accepts pets, but I'd bet they do. They have a large field to the south east (still on the property) that would be great for dogs.

We stay there anytime we travel North/South on I5. The staff have always been friendly and the place always clean. There's a Costco nearby as well.

We're not big KOA fans in general BUT there are a few in the country that I could recommend and this is one.

Remember Oregon is full serve at the pumps.

Smile Albany recommendations

We vote for The Blue Ox. We stayed there last December and enjoyed the swimming pool and other amenities. It is a Good Sam Park, so Good Sam membership will save you 10%.

The Blue Ox RV Park

I don't see anything on the website re dogs, call first.

And while you are in Albany, we highly recommend:

Novaks Hungarian Restaurant - Albany,Oregon

Of course my wife is half Hungarian. Hungarian cuisine is similar to German, her other half and my whole.

I couldn't find anything on prices for Blue Ox, I didn't look at the other.
Waterloo Linn County Park is $24 per night with a senior discount of $7 per night, that connected to water and electricity. A very nice park setting, dog exercise area, lots of space between sites. Very clean park on the river. Host and staff very friendly.
If you've never stayed there you should try it sometime.

Thank you all,

Just called Blue Ox: Full hookup is $28.50 with Good Sam membership & they allow dogs.

Waterloo looks nice and but the site won't let me register, so I'm trying to contact the park people.

My only concern about Waterloo is that it is 45 minutes South of where I will be training. Personally I prefer a "camp like" setting to the concrete RV parking lots. It's great to wake up and "air" the dogs in the field located right next to my rig. But travel time to the training facility is important as well.

I'll be taking a look at the KOI site as well.

Where is the training facility? The KOA is on Hwy. 34 between Corvallis and Albany.

Its just north of Albany. Fairly close. I'll be contacting the KOA Mike recommended for a quote. As I said, Waterloo looks interesting, but is much further away.

I had a nice conversation with the Blue Ox people this AM. I do not need to make a reservation and they are looking forward to seeing me. Free WiFi is good. So is a full hook up, and it is very close to where I'll be going on a daily basis.

Roger, as it turns out ... I'm a full Hungarian! Haven't enjoyed good Hungarian cooking since my late teen years when I was still living at home.

Their web site didn't mention dinner. Do they serve dinner?

Thanks for the recommendation!

I'm not Roger, but yes, they do serve dinner. We enjoyed Mother's Day Brunch there.
Don't think you will be disappointed with Blue Ox considering the purpose of your trip.
